An update on where we are with Issue 15. It is coming together well and is absolutely packed with great ideas. However, it is not yet ready to be released. As you can imagine, this issue is a real challenge to put together for the writers and for me as editor in the midst of Advent and Christmas. Alas some illness post Christmas meant that the editing process was interrupted for ten days.
Following a planning meeting yesterday by members of the Spill the Beans Team, we decided we had to make some changes to how we produce this resource in order to create a more healthy gap for the production of each issue. We currently run very close to the edge which allows precious little space for flexibility.
Because the Narrative Lectionary takes a break during the summer we have decided to do the same, albeit with some changes for us here in the UK as our summer holidays start a month later. We are thus working flat out this next week to write six weeks more material which we will include in Issue 15 taking us up to the start of July.
In another month we will then start work on Issue 16 which will start with Year 2 of the N.L. in September. This will, we pray, get us onto a more sane and balanced approach to creating this wonderful resource.
We really appreciate your patience as we take this opportunity to transition to a better way of working and we know that it means life for those of us that use Spill the Beans regularly is a little tight right now.
To give you a heads up for passages and titles for Lent and Easter I have attached the "Through the Season" ideas. I hope that helps with early planning.
That is enough blethering from me... back to editing Holy Week!
