Jesus prayed for me,
Jesus prayed for you,
Jesus prayed for all his friends
that they would love him too.
Jesus prayed for me,
Jesus prayed for you,
Jesus prayed for all his friends,
his love came shining through.
1. It’s so easy to get angry,
to stamp our feet and raise our voice,
when we lose the things we love to love
it can feel that there’s no choice.
2. Jesus left his friends behind him,
to return to his father above
and he prayed that they’d be united
in the truth of his Word of love.
3. So he sends us out into the world
to share the joy that we know,
for his love is found within our hearts:
the love of God in us will grow.
